Not as well know as the porcupine puffer and not as easy to keep either. Introduce as a juvenile and keep with other non-competitive species.
This puffer gets along well with other members of the same genus. It manuvers just like a helicopter and gets along great with more aggressive fish such as triggers, groupers, and wrasses.
The Dog Face Puffers color can be highly variable and is rarely aggressive towards other fish. More than one can be kept in the same tank.
This is a popular nocturnal species that makes a comical and personable pet. It’s also known for begging for food whenever the aquarist is near.
